Sapphic LLC, located in Philadelphia PA, is a womxn owned and operated business specializing in hand-crafted small batch candles and queer centric apparel. All of our candles are made from 100% organic USA grown soy, ethically sourced and produced in an environmentally responsible way, with 90% of our materials being purchased from local suppliers. Similarly, our t-shirt designs are done in-house and are all 100% original and exclusive to our brand.

Our Process
Our candle making process starts with the glassware. Each container is etched by hand with the sapphic logo. Stencils are produced in house and applied one by one to the glasses, the etching is then carefully painted onto each one before being rinsed and washed to reveal the final result.
Next, we melt our wax in our custom designed melting pot holding up to 25lbs at a time. This is then carefully poured into our pouring pots and allowed to cool before any fragrance is added. Each pot is limited to 50oz of wax, producing only 3 - 5 candles at a time depending on their size. This small batch process ensures a quality pour, allowing us to make adjustments to the formulation as necessary, on a per-batch basis, to ensure you candles come out smelling perfect every time.
While waiting for the wax to cool in our second step, each container is individually labeled and wicked. Our wood wicks have gone through various stages of testing, ensuring an edge to edge burn in every size of our candles. After the wax cools and the fragrances are added, the candles are carefully poured, allowed to solidify and then topped off to fix any imperfections giving them their smooth matte finish.
Once the wax sets, each candle is fixed with a lid and then put away in dark temperature controlled storage to preserve their quality until they’re ready to make their way to their new home.
